The Problem

The challenge was to come up with an Employer Branding idea that promotes the company as the employer of choice to a desired target group.

The Solution

I came up with an idea to showcase Foodpanda offices to students via Virtual Reality, allowing Foodpanda to attract & collect data of the viable future employees.

My Responsibility

My responsibility was to design the whole experience of the project, and further manage the vendors & stakeholders involved. I took the lead in handling the overall script, UX design and interaction.

The Back Story

Foodpanda is an online food and grocery delivery platform owned by Berlin-based Delivery Hero. They aimed to enhance employer branding experience by marketing the entirety of the employment. Foodpanda wanted to describe an employer's reputation as a place to work, and their employee value proposition to be more fun and interactive.

The Situation

I decided to target a certain audience and chose this allocated set up to launch VR Pandas, this booth was used in 5 major universities of Pakistan to enhance recruitment process and entice job hunting candidates in the pre-applicant phase of recruitment.

The Solution

The solution was to showcase the offices of Foodpanda to students via Virtual Reality, offering a VR tour will not only allow Foodpanda to connect with a younger generational audience, it will also present a unique opportunity for potential employees to explore the space and learn new skills.

Research Method

To present the viability of the project, a deep analysis of digital ethnography along with SWOT Analysis was conducted to measure how advantageous the project would be for Employer Branding.

Journey Mapping

After conducting a few user interviews, we synthesised the data to form a journey map consisting of stages, actions, and opportunities associated with the process. This helped us define the main touch points of the users.

Design Stages

The design elaborates different stages of the project for setting up turntable and camera angles for 360 images for further clipping them in an organised manner, developing a perfectly narrated visual story board.

Defining the Design Hierarchy

Brand guidelines were followed to generate the UI/UX of the project, with this mobile, desktop and VR headset versions were created.The design was intuitive and easy to follow especially for students, after several testings the instruction guidelines were finalised. 

Interaction with the Students

Using icons, dialogue boxes, hand gestures and speech configuration the users are assisted by Foodpanda's guide that instructs them throughout the tour. By clicking the arrows, users can explore different areas of the office. 

Gamification of VR Panda

Gamification of VR Panda was introduced to engage the students and introduce them to the new verticle "Pandamart" the users had to select items from the rack under a time limit to win the game. 

Values of Foodpanda

This portion will consist of the main challenge of VR Panda. The user will be asked 7 values of Foodpanda under a certain time limit. The candidate who notices details and answers correct values will be given privilege for the internship shortlisting.

Final Clipping

360 degree Images were taken from each view mentioned in the design script and were clipped together to form a seamless journey for the user. The instructions helped users to navigate themselves and experience the overall tour.
